Bowlive III - Soulive Kicks Off 10 Night Run at Brooklyn Bowl

In what is probably my top favorite musical event of the year, 2012 Bowlive III completely surpassed my expectations. I love to kick-off the first of 10 nights with camera in hand and Brooklyn Bowl deviled egg shooters in the other (You HAVE to get them at Blue Ribbon inside the Brooklyn Bowl). Here's a super cool series of photographs that really capture the intensity of Soulive. Special guest, Luther Dickinson brought the band to the crossroads of Dirty Nasty Guitar Avenue and Sick Southern Swamp Street. Dominican Republic - The Ultra Lux Reserve at the Paradisus Palma Real Resort

The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real in the Dominican Republic was the most chill, beautiful fun, fabulous and relaxing getaway! The weather was absolutely stellar and we had amazing quality family time. This was our 3rd trip to the Dominican and by far the best. The Palma Real had an incredible collection of art. Sculpture, lighting and design were at the heart at the resort. There was so much attention to detail in everything and everywhere. It was a photographer's dream resort. I was taking pictures as if it were an event that I would capture for a client. As much as you see here on this blog post, there is just as much left out (for another post perhaps?) The Queen, Aretha Franklin at Radio City Music Hall

The Queen Aretha Franklin took the stage of Radio City Hall tonight to deliver the soul she is so known for. However, tonight had a slightly more important urgency to her performance. She was giving her all for her honorary niece, Whitney Houston. Whitney's funeral is tomorrow and Aretha will be singing at the church service. With Clive Davis and L.A. Reid in the audience, Whitney Houston's presence was felt and her life was celebrated in songs all night. There was a stirring moment in particular when Aretha performed, "I Will Always Love You" in honor of Houston.

Guns N' Roses - Terminal 5 - Rippin' Up NYC

Axl Rose and company brought the noise and the bone-crunching guitar tone to Terminal 5 tonight. The band was on fire and still makes you rock as hard as you remember. The sold out crowd was crushing inside Terminal 5 to an excruciatingly uncomfortable level, but fans didn't care. Guns N' Roses did not disappoint - they played everything for hours and Axl's snakeskin snarl made for some pretty wicked photographs. Thanks for keepin' the flame alive Axl!
