Sunset Sheva Brachot on the Hudson River
Summer in NYC was made that much more enjoyable for me when I had the opportunity to photograph a sunset cruise celebration of Rebecca & Harry's Sheva Brachot on board The Atlantis. The Maccabeats kept the harmonies humming, Dejuan Stroud dressed up the ship and Gourmet Advisory produced the beautiful party. The sky along the Hudson River was simply magnificent for the unique Jewish celebration. Mazel Tov Harry & Rebecca!

Amy Winehouse - May Your Voice & Spirit Live Forever
When I captured this photo in the Summer of 2007, I was incredibly excited to see her perform live. I was shooting the Virgin Music Festival in Baltimore and she was the on the bill of almost 50 artists, she was the one I wanted to see most. Her album Back to Black was one of the biggest at the time and I couldn't get enough of her voice. It had a sound that came from a place of distant memory, something familiar, something vintage, something deeply emotional, and something so authentic. I must have listened to that album every day that summer. Amy was very playful onstage during this performance and still looked great, albeit a bit thin. Her voice was strong and I knew we were witnessing a true legend in the making. Rest in Peace Amy, we will miss you.

Appetite for Destruction 25th Anniversary Contest Winner Announced
#gunsnroses #AFD25
Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction
HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY TO APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION!
And the winner is ...
It's hard to believe that it's been 25 years since Appetite for Destruction was released. When Guns N' Roses bust onto the scene in 1987, the musical landscape was changed forever. Finally, a band that seemed "real."
Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction spoke to kids in 1987 with it's raw honesty, and as a result, it shot straight up the charts. Selling over 30 million copies worldwide since it's release, "Appetite" contains the hit songs that still strike a chord with generations of rock fans today.
To celebrate this monumental anniversary, we're giving away a copy of Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction.
Reckless Road is not only the best book written about Guns N' Roses, it is one of the best rock books ever. Author Marc Canter had unlimited access to the band during their genesis, and the photos and information contained in this book are priceless.
''When Guns N' Roses formed, Marc became like the sixth guy in the band. He was always around and had unlimited access to the band, especially in the early days... He believed in us from the beginning and had a much broader view of what the band was about than we had from the early stages. He documented the whole thing, tirelessly.'' --Duff McKagan, on Marc Canter, Author of Reckless Road
When teenager and amateur photographer Marc Canter set out to document his best friend Saul Hudson's rise as a rock guitarist in 1982, he never imagined he was documenting the genesis of of the next great rock 'n' roll band. His friend became the legendary guitarist Slash, and Canter found himself witnessing the creation of Guns N' Roses front and center. The candid shots contained in Reckless Road, taken as the band toured in 1985-1987 and made the legendary album Appetite for Destruction, capture their raw, blood-sweat-and-tears performances as well as their intimate moments. Containing original gig memorabilia including show flyers, ticket stubs, set lists, press clippings, and handwritten lyrics as well as in-depth interviews with band members and the people closest to them, Reckless Road offers an explicit, first-person perspective readers won't find anywhere else.

Charlie Dane 2012
It was another thrill to photograph Charlie Dane in the studio last week. When you work with someone you respect and admire, it ups the ante on how much passion you put into your craft. We had a blast and when Charlie performed a mini-set near the end of the shoot, well, things just don't get any better than that. I'm such a big fan and know Charlie has such a great career ahead of her. Here's a link to her website to check her music.

I'm thrilled to be part of the fine art gallery opening from celebrity curator Danny Masterson and Rock Paper Photo, the online gallery for fine art photography founded by Live Nation, and Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary. They are presenting an iconic collection of limited edition prints at Confederacy in Los Angeles. One of my photographs of Thom Yorke of Radiohead will be presented on display. The Exhibition opens June 29th 2012 at the Confederacy located at 4661 Hollywood Boulevard.

He is the latest in a series of esteemed guest-curators that includes John Varvatos, Def Leppard's Phil Collen, Guy Oseary and more.
The Rock Paper Photo exhibition will remain open for the summer at Confederacy, Masterson's lifestyle boutique in LA, and online at rockpaperphoto.com.
