Treacherous but Beautiful Telluride Airport Runway
Here's one more shot (and mini-story) from our Telluride adventure. As we were approaching the runway into Telluride, we were banking left and were almost completely sideways in the dual propeller 7 passenger plane. The runway is located on a plateau, and can be a very challenging approach for pilots, particularly those operating commuter aircraft or business jets. During winter months, approximately 20% of the scheduled commuter airline flights end up having to divert to other nearby airports because of abruptly adverse landing conditions. Pilots must contend with high terrain exceeding 14,000 feet at all quadrants, as well as the airport's location on a plateau with a thousand-foot drop to the San Miguel River below. Most of the passengers on the plane were freaking out on our approach, but because I had my camera and was shooting the approach, my mind was taken off the extreme flight condition.

More Amazing Photos from Telluride
Here are a few more of my favorite photos from Telluride. Here's the view from our hike looking down into the canyon town of Telluride.

Here's a cool shot of me flying over the top of Ingram Falls which is about 2 miles above the top of Bridal Veil Falls. I'm hanging on by an old mining cable from Black Bear mine. I gave my camera to my buddy Will Evans to capture this unforgettable experience!

Telluride, Colorado Majesty
We just got back from the heavenly paradise of Telluride, Colorado. Many more images to follow, but here's just a taste of the incredible mountain terrain. We were hiking up to 12,000 feet and the start of our hike was at Bridal Veil Falls - a large two-pronged waterfall located east of the town. If you love waterfalls, Bridal Veil Falls is a "must see" if you're in Telluride. Bridal Veil Falls is Colorado's highest cascade, with a 365 foot drop. I'll be posting more incredible images from the trip in the days to come. Enjoy!
