MJ Selected for Jambase's 2007 Concert Calendar

October Apple/Pumpkin Westchester Spectacular

This is why we choose to live in the northeast - the seaons! With the full krewe in effect, we enjoyed a spectacular sunny day on Outhouse Orhchards picking ripe macintosh apples and laughing ontop of plump pumkins. Ahhh, life is good with smiling kids around. Enjoy the gallery.

Jambase Publishes My Review of Virgin Music Festival w/The Who & Red Hot CHili Peppers

The UK's massive V Fest made it's successful US debut with The Who, The Peppers, The Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkely, The Killers, Thievery Corporation, Brazilian Girls and many more. I covered the event for Jambase and here's the published review with photos.

Enchanted Princess

Eden was one of a handful of supermodels walking the catwalk at the wonderful Upper East Side toy and costume boutique, "Enchanted." Enchanted held a modeling show of their high-end couture costumes from around the world just in time for Halloween. The event was priceless. Enjoy the gallery here.

Portugal 2006

Visit the Algarve region in Portugal - it was spectacular - great for kids, the weather and food were both perfect in every way, and the color of everything we saw was vivid and breathtaking. Enjoy the photo gallery.

Galactic, Umphrees at Central Park Summerstage

It was the perfect summer night for a trek thru the park to catch some of New Orleans and Chi-towns finest bands who played on the great Central Park's Summerstage. Also, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals kicked off the evening. Galactic is always consistently furiously funky and I just can't seem to escape Stanton Moores kick-drum driving, snare pounding groove. Summers in Italy

There is something about the summertime that makes one long for Italy. Italy's food, villas (like ours you see above), and slow-paced easy lifestyle really enable one to completely disconnect from the electronic world we live in . Take a moment, sip a cappuccino, and enjoy this gallery - which captures the true essence of "summering" in Forte Dei Marmi, Italy.

For those who can't get enough (me included), here's a
fresh link to a free soundboard from the Woodstock show in Bethel, NY. It was actually a faithful recreation of the Dead's Woodstock set from 1969. These shows sound phenomenal. I strongly urge you to download and listen!

July 4th Weekend at the Sands

Gal Cuts 12 Inches - Donates Mane to Locks of Love

Well, after 3 plus years of thick, unadultered mane-growing, my beautiful wife cut her hair last night - about 12 inches - and donated to the wonderful charity "Locks of Love."

She was going to grow it another 2-3 inches during the summer and cut it after, but the heat was too much. So we all gathered around the salon - Tal came and the kids came with our bbsitter, Brooke - and we chronicled the whole event.

Gal was really emotional after her mane was cut, but we all cheered and made her feel like a champ. Everyone commented on how it was such a great thing she did for the charity. I love her new "do. "

I've also posted a picture of how it looked the next day.

Jonah & Eden's Last Day of School 2006

Well, this year has definitely gone by faster than any year I can remember. It literally seems like yesterday that they entered Kindergarden (for Jonah) and Pre-K (for Eden). Gal has been incredibly active at PS 158 - and the kids love that she walks them to school everyday.

Here's the final snapshot of the kids getting ready before their very last day of the year.

SAMURAI JONAH

For Father's Day, we went to our cousin's house in Philly and played on a giant water slide. Jonah thought he was Jack Black in Nacho Libre - and performed all kinds of ridiculous samurai warrior moves. Check it...

Jonah's Mega 6th Birthday Throwdown

Jonah turned 6 on May 30, which was the same weekend we kicked off the summer at the Sands Beach Club. Everyone was ready to party and I planned a massive treasure hunt for the kids of the club (took me 4 hours to put together, burying toys and clues in the sand and around the entire beach club). We had a kids dance contest, dodgeball and basketball game, sandcrab and m&m races, pinata bashing and more. Shanon Stapleton grabbed my lens and began photographing the kids dance contest and the sand crab races - which you'll see in the photo gallery. We all really lived it up. Everyone got into the party. Happy 6th Birthday Jonah!

The Unger's Crawfish Boil - April '06

Part of the annual rites of spring involve heading up to Hastings-on-the-Hudson to eat some of the best crawfish and home-made jambalaya you've tasted outside New Orleans. Dave and Dana do it up right and host a family afternoon of amazing food, funk and funk! Yeah You Right! My boy Michael Weschler snapped the pix of the fun.
